Education and Society
The blog title, being determinedly descriptive, and appropriately broad covers a multitude of things related to education and society. This is considerable scope. The name came from a module I taught ‘way back when’ at Teesside University.
This blog is completely my take on things, unless I share posts by others. Overall the site aims to provide a sociological understanding and critique of education.
The photograph on the header is taken from a 1907 school photograph of Staindrop, near Barnard Castle, Co. Durham. I’m pretty certain it features my Grandmother. The schoolmaster is, I think, Alfred William Collier Edwards. You can read a post about him.
